The final step in the tanning process is to dry the hides on the walls and roofs of the tannery before they are sold to the craftsmen that will turn them into coats, purses, belts, babouches, and furniture. A visit to the tannery gives you a full appreciation of the process and effort resulting in all the leather products sold throughout the medina.
